The first TCR musical project, released May 2009 and named for the auld Scots Highland Gaelic place-name meaning a blue/grey/ green mountain. This album is true to the spirit of traditional Scottish folk music, evoking a timeless romantic mixture of sounds, images and moods, redolent of mossy mountains, peat and heather, lochs and glens, misty mornings, a cosy fireside at the gloaming...Glasven is fully immersed in the Scottish Highlands, full of the green and heathery rural splendour of that scenery and in the conveying of old songs full of love, passion and yearning, all in an utterly traditional acoustic style with guitar, flute and mandolin.
The theme that runs through Glasven is the love songs of Robert Burns and the presence of the countryside of the Highlands and consists of recordings developed from 2006-2007. The music was composed by myself in traditional Scots folk style, apart for tracks 6 and 9, which are traditional tunes. All vocals, instrumentation, recording, mixing and album art were my sole responsibility too.

"Glasven- a beautiful album that suits the moods of the Scottish landscape! This is a wonderful album by Lori Hartbarger, it is very atmospheric and very evocative of the highlands, we took the album on a trip to Scotland and the music formed a beautiful background to our journey. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys traditional music." Gilly Farrie, England.
